The Mayor Pro Tem shall cease to hold that office if he or she dies, becomes incapacitated, resigns, ceases to be a resident of the Town or is recalled from the office by a vote of five (5) or more Councilpersons. When a Mayor Pro Tem vacancy occurs the Council shall elect a replacement from among its membership at the next regular meeting. (Amended 4/5/83; 11/4/08)
