Sec. 10-2-90. Perjury.
(a) A person commits perjury in the first degree if in any official proceeding he knowingly makes a materially false statement, which he does not believe to be true, under an oath required or authorized by law.
(b) A person commits the crime of perjury when that person swears with intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of the public servant’s duty and the person’s false statement is material to the action, proceeding or matter involved.
(c) A person commits the crime of perjury when that person knowingly makes a materially false statement, which he does not believe to be true, under an oath required or authorized by law.
(d) Penalty. Any person, upon conviction of a violation of any provision of this Section shall be subject to a maximum penalty as set forth in Section 1-4-10(a)(1) for each separate offense. Each violation constitutes a separate offense under this Section. (Ord. 1489 §1, 2019)
