Upon adoption of this Charter, the current Town Board of Trustees shall declare at their next regular meeting a municipal election to be held on April 4, 1978. At that election the voters shall elect representatives to fill all seven (7) seats on the Town Council. The four (4) candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for two (2) year terms. The three (3) candidates receiving the next highest number of votes shall be elected for one (1) year terms and their successors chosen at a regular election in April of 1979.

Any elector duly registered to vote at the election for adoption of this Charter shall be construed eligible to vote in the election for Councilpersons on April 4, 1978.
